Large carrollite crystal on a matrix of calcite and mica shist. Sharp crystal edges and good mirror lustre. At the back of the carrollite an imprint is visible where it contacted with the surrounding rock. On close inspection fine hair fractures can be seen on the surfaces of the crystal, but it is sturdy and 100% stable. Matrix pieces are few and far between and this is the largest carrolite that we could find on matrix. Carrolite crystal measures 30mm on end.
